These animals are endangered nowadays so there are many reserves organized in various parts of the world that try to help them to survive; Unfortunately most of these reserves are small and isolated which leads to inbreeding. The decline of the Tigers of Bali and Java is attributed to extensive habitat fragmentation and insularization of small populations and widespread loss of prey. Inbreeding weakens the Tiger’s gene pool and increases the risk of genetic abnormalities. Dissection of their natural habitat results in separation and impedes mating. As man advances deeper into their habitat, the risk of accidental encounters increases, and in this case it is hard to foresee the animal’s behavior.
