Bengal Tiger
The bengal tiger kitten can be viewed on most big cat sites or listed catteries.
They have sharp retractile claws and large teeth which help them hold onto prey once the attack is made. The bite of this animal is deadly. This is one of the few felines that love water. These animals lead a solitary life; it is only during mating seasons when males unite with females. They are territorial and each animal has its own range. A male’s range is much larger than that of a female, and he mates with all females within his domain. Their population is decreasing at a menacing rate. There are actually 5 living subspecies of these animals. All these species are endangered and 3 subspecies have already become extinct.

These animals are excellent swimmers, climbers and hunters. Their sight and hearing are very keen. The animal’s body is designed in such a way to aid in hunting and killing. The hind legs are longer than the forelegs. This allows jumping further. Jaws and shoulders are very strong to drag the kill up to trees. They are not great runners, but are capable of staying under cover for many hours. The striped patterns provide a reliable camouflage that makes them literally invisible under cover. When prey comes within the striking range, they jump out of the cover and down on the victim’s back and grab it by the neck.
