Another variant is black or melanistic animals. They have black or brown coat color with narrow yellow or orange stripes or may have no stripes at all. Such creatures are only reported, but there is no photographic evidence of them. Wild animals live in swampy areas, tropical woods and grasslands. They hunt medium-sized and large prey, such as pigs, deer, antelopes, buffalo and small elephants. They may also raid livestock. Old or disabled animals can pose great danger to people.

Pictures Of The Bengal Tiger -
breeders, rescue
The usual coat of these animals combines three colors: black or brown, orange or tawny and whitish. There are several other color variations recorded. The most known of them is white coat. Such animals are creamy with chocolate stripes, blue eyes and pink nose and paw pads. One such cub was spotted in 1951 and taken to a zoo for further breeding. He was named Mohad and later was introduced to an orange female that carried the recessive allele responsible for white color. All white species we can see in zoos nowadays are descendants of Mohad.
