Black Bear Range
The black bear range is great and picture are easy to take especially near farms as garbage attracts the species.
This species prefers temperate and tropical forests, mountainous regions, tundra where much food is available. The density of these animals is higher within river valleys and remote areas where contacts with humans are minimal. In northern areas they hibernate up to 7 months, in southern may not hibernate at all.

The Canadian population remains the same as it was before the European settlers; in 15 states of the USA it is extinct and in several others it is endangered due to excessive hunting and habitat destruction.
