The Alaskan black bear is often seen on farms and in forests; conservation laws allow regulated hunting. In summer they eat berries, insects, dig roots; this subspecies is more efficient hunter than its southern counterparts and can kill deer, moose, and other animals. This animal is the smallest of 3 species inhabiting that state (150-180 cm long and weigh 90-270 kg); it may often be blond, white and bluish-gray. It can be found in forested areas and tundra. These animals hibernate here for more than 7 months. The Alaskan black bear is often seen on farms and in forests; conservation laws allow regulated hunting.
