Capuchin Monkey

Capuchin monkey pictures can be found on most photo sites for rain forrest animals. The origin of the name comes from the appearance of a black skullcap. Capuce is a French word for a skullcap. The hair of the animal is very similar to the cowl or capuche worn by Franciscan monks. The monkeys have a supple and slender body with thin limbs. They are highly social and form groups of 3 to 30 individuals. Whatís most interesting about their social behavior is reciprocal altruism, a behavior absolutely untypical of other wild animals. Participation in hunting is appreciated within a group, and monkeys share food with those members of the unit that have taken more effort in obtaining food. Surprisingly, if the leader of a group has shied away from the action, he may not get a single piece of food! Capuchin monkey pictures can be found on most photo sites for rain forrest animals.
