A female attracts a male by urinating near him. Gestation period of these animals lasts for 91-95 days. After mating a male and a female do not stay together. Females breed their children alone. The young stay with their mother for some period of time.

Females give birth to 1-6 cubs in a litter. The young are born in a covered shelter and are kept hidden for the first month. Lions and hyenas are natural predators of these animals and many cubs become victims of these creatures. To avoid these and other predators the mother moves her cubs during the first few weeks of their life. Cheetah cubs look cute in a photo; conservation is a very personal issue for some people.
