These animals usually hunt alone. They don’t have any of the group behaviors that lions do. Cubs are ready to hunt with their mothers at the age of seven months. They usually stay with their mothers for about 18 months.

During their breeding period males are very aggressive; when fight over females, they have been known to kill each other.
