Hunting Elk

Hunting elk doesn't mean you can shoot a baby; babies are not allowed according to regulations. Newborn calves stand quickly and are able to walk a few minutes after birth. When a calf is able to run and jump, the cow and her baby join the herd; it usually takes 1-3 weeks. In the herd, calves are grouped together and watched over by a few cows.
