Exotic breeders may have a new baby on-hand every few months; some farms are set up as businesses.
These animals hunt mostly in grass and around trees. Being natural carnivores, they have several adaptations to successful hunting. Their teeth are very sharp and the length of the canine teeth can be up to 3 inches; the jaw muscles are very strong and have great crushing power. These felines hunt by stalking their prey. They can lie under cover for a long time until the prey gets close enough and charge at a lightning speed. Their long hind legs permit them to make long leaps and high jumps. This is a unique adaptation, as they can come right down on the prey’s back leaving it zero chance for survival.

These tigers have a special hunting method; they stalk slowly and patiently through cover until close enough for the final spring. They usually drag the killed prey under trees and all sorts of shelters where other animals won’t be able to find them. Their unbelievable power allows them to drag prey for about 1,500 feet, and they can consume 40 pounds of meat in one go. Although hunting is no easy task for them, they can stay without food for a couple of days and thus have plenty of time to prepare for another hunt.
