The animal jaguar population is endangered; conservation measures are taken, but illegal hunting stil exists.
These wild cats often confused with leopards. These two species are both very big and have even a similar brownish/yellow base fur color which is distinctively marked with dark rosette markings. However, these two species have rather distinct differences.

As they are territorial creatures, they often mark their home range by scratching tree trunks and spraying urine on trees and prominent objects. Both males and females of the species have separate home ranges. The animal jaguar population is endangered; conservation measures are taken, but illegal hunting stil exists.
