These secretive, solitary hunters possess an excellent eyesight and superb hearing. They are skilled night hunters, but unlike most wild cats, these predators can easily hunt at day. They are agile climbers and jumpers and run swift.

These wild cats use a wide variety of habitats. They can be found in lowland tropical forests, grasslands, dry brush countries and swamps. In general, these animals prefer any area with adequate cover and prey of course. Lion mountain babies cannot be kept as pets, in spite of their cute photos.
