Anteaters are named so for their food habits. They live almost entirely on ants and termites and are perfectly adapted to finding them. These creatures have toothless jaws, an extensile tongue, and claws for breaking into the nests of their prey. Giant Anteaters are about 1.8 m long including the tail; the smallest Anteater (Cyclopes didactyla) is about 35 cm long.
