The extreme reclusive nature provides little opportunity to know about wild Clouded Leopards, a medium-sized cat that lives in the Asian forests. Genetics indicate it is a member of the Pantherinae - a subfamily of the Felidae family among which lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards, and snow leopards are classified. They are a separate wildcat species apart from leopards. The name is derived from the coat of cloud-like spots that provide camouflage in its forest habitat.
