Desert lynx originated from crosses of bobcats with domestic cats. They are strong, stout cats. Ideally, bobcat markings, head shape, sturdy body, longer hind legs, tufted toes and domestic cat temperament are breeders' goals. True colors are ebony, blue, sorrel, fawn, chocolate, lilac, silvers and snows. These animals are accepted with tickled, spotted, or marbled patterns. These alert active intelligent cats, some say, have the beautiful Bobcat "Wild" look with the laid-back, playful, loyal and affectionate dog-like personality.
