Exotic Breeder

The animals are slow moving and inoffensive though there are relative concepts that binturong can move as rapidly, and bite as effectively, as a domestic dog its size. In addition, there is the "duck killing" leap--in the wild, binturongs will leap on prey (such as ducks) to kill them.

Exotic Breeder -
photo, picture
Binturongs are endangered animals due to the habitat erosion and poaching (both as a delicacy and for medicine). In captivity it is rarely bred or exhibited. At present, CPT has 3/4 of the world's captive breeding population of binturongs. This, combined with the long-term reproductive success of these animals, will be adequate to assure the species' long-term survival. An exotic breeder will provide a species' photo and a picture.
