Cows give birth to the young in spring, and calves are usually born single. Twins occur on rare occasions. Calves start walking just a couple of hours after birth, and several days later they become strong and fast enough to outrun a human.

These animals inhabit Polar Regions, and are very well accustomed to arctic climates. They are social animals, and move in groups, usually dominated by mature males. When rutting, bulls are extremely aggressive and protective around the cows in the group. Reindeer caribou babies look adorable in photos.
