Siberian Tiger Behavior

Documentation on siberian tiger behavior is usually accompanied by photos in a picture collection of the cat. These animals are most active at nights but at winter they are also active at daytime and they sometimes may gather and share a large prey. These cats mark their territory by scratching the trees and spraying their urine together with a glandular secretion. They prefer not to trespass on each others’ domains, and fights do not happen frequently. Males identify females in estrus by the smell of urine markings and do not follow unreceptive females. Mating usually takes place in winter, so that cubs are born by the time weather becomes more favorable. These are mostly solitary animals and they like to hunt alone; for them it is easier and more successful to hunt alone as they are used to hiding before they attack their prey. The animal waits for a chance and attacks by biting the victim on the throat. They are very patient hunters, and can lie in wait for more than an hour. They usually kill young, diseased or old animals that cannot run fast. Females are more adept at hunting, because they have to take care of their young and bring food to them. Documentation on siberian tiger behavior is usually accompanied by photos in a picture collection of the cat.
