Nursing females are very protective around their young and defend them aggressively against males that may kill the cubs. Litters usually contain 3-4 cubs, and they are born blind and helpless. They start eating meat 6-8 weeks after birth, and begin to hunt independently at 1.5-2 years old.

These cats are solitary animals that prefer to hunt and live alone. They have territories that are divided between the animals and they do not trespass the boarders.
