Their stripped coat provides a reliable protection against cold and excellent camouflage, making it barely noticeable for prey. These animals weigh 600-700 pounds, and they require large amount of food to survive in their cold habitat. In summer, the coat reddens a little. Because they live in areas with a harsh climate, they have to hunt a lot to survive the cold. They hunt large and medium-sized game, such as deer, elk and wild boar. Although they are thought by many as ‘man-eaters’, only three animals out of a thousand turn on humans.

Siberian Tigers are the largest of all felines. They have massive bodies with well muscled limbs and large heads. The hind legs are longer than the front legs, and provide substantial propelling power, which allows for a long and precise leap. These tigers are also referred to as Amur Tigers, and they can be found in the Sikhote Alin reserve located along the Sikhote-Alin mountain range, Russia. They used to be common in Korea and China, but nowadays they are extinct in these regions.
