The Siberian Tiger has a dense coat and thick skin, enabling him to withstand harsh climatic conditions of his natural habitat. He occurs in pale orange-brown with distinctive patterns of strips, which are as diverse as human fingerprints, and there are no two identical patterns. Siberians are the largest felines on earth, and the record weight for them is 875 lbs. Their average weight is 500-600 lbs. These felines have been hunted extensively over the past century, and there are less that 400 tigers left in the wild. Unfortunately, Russian legislation is too breached to make up a viable barrier for poachers, and local officials are too corrupt and avaricious to really care for these beautiful animals. The species is facing the danger of extinction in the foreseeable future.
