Siberian Tiger Conservation
Siberian tiger conservation is more successful with picture and video distribution and ban of hunting.
Three subspecies are totally extinct and they are: Bali, Caspian and Javan. Disappearance of these creatures was caused by the following factors: man and progress, poaching, hunting for coat and for medicine purposes, etc. Unfortunately, poachers and the Asian market continue to pose threat to the five remaining subspecies. However, Indian government has taken measures and contributed to the salvation of a lot of Bengals, and there has even been an increase in their population. The panthera tigris altaica is, however, much more vulnerable as long as there are much fewer representatives of this subspecies left in the wild.

Siberian Tiger Conservation -
picture, hunting
There are eight species of this animal that are known but there are only five that are left now. Besides this one, there are also Bengal, Indochinese, South China, and Sumatran. There were about 100000 representatives of these animals a century ago and now there are only about 5000 left. The population of wild Amur subspecies has shrunk to 200 animals, and if the current tendency persists for another 20 years, there will be no such animals in the foreseeable future. Zoos and sanctuaries provide facilities for raising captive animals that later can be introduced to their natural habitat.
