These animals make good pets if they are hand-raised, and if caught in the wild, they remain timid and will always try to run away. They should be kept in a large fenced enclosure and provided with fresh grass or hay.

There exist about 30 species of these animals; the most popular are Bennett’s, Damas, and Red-necked Pademelons. They range from the size of a rabbit to 3 feet high.
