Their life expectancy is 12-15 years; the gestation period is 30 days and up to 9 months the mother carries her children in the pouch and weans them at the age of 15-17 months. Females reach sexual maturity at 20 months, and males at 20-24 months.

This species is also called Bennett’s; they are grayish-brown with red-brown neck and shoulders. They are among the largest types ranging from 30 to 36 inches in body length and standing about 3 feet high. Their thin and muscular tail is 24-30 inches long.
